In Moscow, on behalf of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to Russia, a working meeting was held between the President of the "BRICS House", Sergey Ladochkin, and the Second Secretary for Political Affairs of the Embassy of Singapore, Catherine Zou.
The parties discussed the participation of the Singaporean side in the BRICS+ Business Week — Business Forum, which will take place from October 22 to 24, 2026, in St. Petersburg as part of the 30th International Forum and Exhibition "Russian Industrialist – 2026".
A separate topic of the meeting was the technology of large-module housing construction. On September 10, the Public Headquarters for Monitoring the Implementation of the Renovation Program, together with the Department of Urban Planning Policy, organized a tour of a new residential building constructed under the renovation program using this technology. Ladochkin shared the best practices of housing construction in the capital and discussed with his colleague the prospects of building a "Russian School" using the same prefabricated modular structures that are utilized to build modern multi-apartment residential buildings in Moscow.
The representative of the Singapore Embassy noted the value of exchanging urban planning experience between the two countries. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold follow-up negotiations in October, to which the Singaporean side will invite businessmen and developers working in the urban development sector.
Commenting on the results of the meeting, Ladochkin called Singapore a recognized global leader in modern urban planning and comfortable urban environments. According to him, the capital's renovation experience and advanced technologies in large-module housing construction, showcased by the Public Headquarters and the Moscow Department of Urban Planning Policy, were highly praised by the Singaporean diplomats, which confirms the world-class standard of Russian solutions. Modular technologies, he noted, open up opportunities for constructing high-quality social infrastructure, including educational institutions.
"We are focused on continuing a substantive dialogue with Singaporean entrepreneurs in October and on the sidelines of the BRICS+ Business Forum in St. Petersburg," Ladochkin emphasized.
Singapore is not a member of BRICS and does not hold the status of a partner country of the association. However, the city-state traditionally participates in international economic forums and maintains business ties with the BRICS+ countries. The participation of the Singaporean side in the BRICS+ Business Forum is a step towards expanding the dialogue between the association and one of Asia's key financial and logistics hubs
